Trilene at Apple Sutures is a polypropylene monofilament non-coated material that has a unique feature of not getting degraded or not losing the tensile strength because of Trilene. Trilene creates a minimal inflammatory reaction in the tissue followed by a gradual encapsulation of the suture by fibrous tissue. It is non-absorbable and is sterilized 100% with ethylene oxide of sizes 8-0, 7-0, 6-0, 5-0, 4-0, 3-0, 2-0, 0, 1, 2 of blue colour and apart from these, the package life is of 5 years and the packaging size is 1x12.
These are the materials Apple Sutures host and promote in order make surgeries and post-traumatic care easy satisfying the long term recovery perspective of the patients.
Composition | Isotactic crystalline stereo isomer of polypropylene or synthetic linear polyolefin.
Monofilament |
---|---|
Processing | Polypropylene filaments are agened and annealed to form suture threads. |
Charecteristics | Very flexible .
High tensile strength. Highly ductile and smooth. It extends upto 30% prior to rupture of the thread , allowing for post operative tissue swelling and avoiding possible tissue strangulation. Easily visible in the wound |
Asorbability | Non absorbable |
colour | Blue |
Uses | Most commonly used in rectus sheath closure of the abdominal wall.
Vascular anastomoses – Small vessels like in Coronary artery bypass graft and large vessels including aorta. Skin closure, general soft tissue approximation and ligation. Tendon repair surgery , repairing hernias and other injuries to the fascia. |
