Legut Chromic

Composition	Composed of collagen- derived from either the serosal layer of beef (bovine) or the submucosal fibrous layer of sheep (ovine) intestines.
Processing	The collagen is ground in order to achieve a monofilament character and treated with a glycerol-containing solution Catgut threads are processed with buffered chromic salts to enhance durability in tissue
Asorbability	Absorbable
colour	Straw to brown coloured
Caution	Not for use in cardiovascular and neurological tissues. Should not be used where extended wound support is required. Infection at the site of operation will greatly hydrolyse the thread and reduces tensile strength.
Uses	Widely used in Episiotomy wound repair , circumcession , suturing in oral cavity and other mucosal layers. Ophthalmic surgery
Sterilization	Sterilizing fluid containing ethylene oxide, isopropyl alcohol and distilled water.
